Blockchain-backed academic document verification
A platform where institutions register certificate hashes, verifiers check documents by QR code or certificate ID, and an AI model extracts details from uploaded marksheets.
The challenge
Employers and universities struggle to confirm that a marksheet or certificate is genuine, and manual checks with issuing institutions are slow. Forged documents are hard to spot visually.
What we built
Institutions upload documents, the system computes a hash, generates a QR code and records the hash through a blockchain layer. A Solidity contract defines registration, revocation and authorised issuers, while the backend runs in a simulation mode by default. Verifiers look up certificates individually or in batches, and every attempt is logged. An AI service reads uploaded PDFs or images, extracts fields and matches the institution. Email notifications and role-based access for admins, institutions and verifiers are included.
Key capabilities
- Document hashing, QR code generation and certificate lookup
- Solidity contract with registration, revocation and authorised issuers
- Batch verification and verification logs with statistics
- AI extraction of marksheet fields and institution matching
- Email notifications with preferences and role-based access
What it delivers
- Authenticity checks reduce to comparing a document hash against a registered record
- Every verification attempt leaves a log entry for analytics
- Institutions manage issuance and revocation through one admin panel
